Are you looking for a more upscale dining experience at the Walt Disney World Resort? Are you a foodie looking for your next delectable bite? The California Grill atop Disney’s Contemporary Resort is for you then.

For my husband’s birthday I planned dinner at the California Grill. Our reservations were for 9:00. I was a little disappointed snagging so late of a time but it ended up being perfect!
We arrived at the Contemporary Resort by monorail and proceeded down the escalator to find the check in desk. Once our table was ready we boarded special elevators to the 15th floor. The restaurant features a big open air kitchen, huge wine shelves and sweeping views of the Magic Kingdom.
Dinner is a 3-course meal that includes an appetizer, entree, and desert for $89 per adult and $39 per child. The food and service were exquisite! I started with Sonoma Goat Cheese Raviolo which was divine. Charles got the Surf and Turf Roll which he really enjoyed. After our starters our waiter directed us out to the balcony to enjoy the Happily Ever After fireworks. We enjoyed the nighttime display and went back in to delight in the rest of our dinner. For the next course I had the AAA Ahi Tuna, again very tasty and my husband had the Oak-grilled Filet of Beef. We ended the night with Cherry and Dark Chocolate Mille-Feuille and White Chocolate and Vanilla Bean “Mousse”. Everything was delicious and we were both stuffed upon leaving. We also tried the Ancho Rancho Spicy Margarita which was good but a little pricey.

The service was outstanding. Our waiter treated my husband to a slice of birthday cake as well. This is a perfect date night and/or special occasion dining option at the Walt Disney World Resort.
