Universal’s Endless Summer Dockside

Front Entrance of Universal’s Endless Summer Dockside

I just returned from a conference at Universal Studios Orlando’s Endless Summer Dockside Inn. Unfortunately I forgot to take any of my own pictures so those you see are stock images sorry about that. I was a little overwhelmed with all the new things I was learning.

Endless Summer is made up of 2 resorts across the street from one another, Surfside and Dockside. Both resorts are Value Resorts in Universal Studios Orlando’s family of resorts. Dockside is the larger of the 2 hotels with over 2000 rooms. This means it is the hotspot for groups. Dockside is busy! Several people at our convention mentioned extended wait times to check in and/or baggage retrieval. That being said, I was able to walk right up to the desk on 2 occasions. But the lobby was always busy during my visit and somewhat loud. I had colleagues complain about the noise in their room. There were kids everywhere. But I personally did not have this issue.

As far as the rooms go, they were clean and comfortable and light housekeeping was preformed daily. Fresh towels were always available. The sink is separate from the toilet and shower which is great when multiple people need to get ready at the same time. The bathroom is tiny and I could not find a place to hang my bathroom bag conveniently. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of plugs and USB ports in the room. It was an adequate no thrills room.

There are tons of lounge chairs surrounding the pool.

The amenities were simple but good. The pool is huge and there is tons of seating. There is a splash area for littles, a sandy beach type area, and a pool bar. Life vests and swim diapers were readily available as well as fresh towels. The dining was a cafeteria style with a variety of foods to meet everyone’s needs and there was plenty of seating here too. Transportation was exemplary! I never waited more than 5 minutes going to and coming from Universal CityWalk.

Overall this is a good resort especially if traveling with a large group. Would I choose to stay here again? Probably not. Knowing what I know, I would pick Endless Summer Surfside when staying at a value resort. The smaller size leads to a more laid back and relaxed atmosphere.
